A 64-year-old man complains of suddenly perceiving a "dark curtain" in the periphery of his left eye, since a few hours ago. Further questioning reveals that he has been seeing "cobwebs" slowly floating before the same eye during the preceding several weeks.

There is no history of trauma and his medical history is unremarkable. His surgical history is significant for cataract surgery in both eyes a year ago. He has been using reading glasses for almost a decade now.

The remainder of his history is without note.
